Super GT

So ive been thinking and i think its time that we have a Leauge wide tournament and what better that a Super GT Tournement! now i know that we have quite a few tourneys going on right now so this most likely wouldn't start till october.

Firstly what is Super GT?
Super GT is the Japanese grand touring championship. It is divided into 2 classes GT500 and GT300 limited to 500BHP and 300BHP respectively

What cars can compete?
Naturally all the JCGT/GT500/GT300 cars can compete, but other manufactures also are present in Super GT. Manufactures such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, BMW, Porche, McLaren, Lamborghini

How can all these cars remain competitive?
There are 2 ways this can be done, There will be 2 classes GT500(R2) and GT300(R3), Furthermore cars will be allowed to be upgraded and then placed in groups which will than apply handicaps keeping cars as balanced as possible.

How is the tounament structured?
The tournament will run in multi format races or each class will run seperately, this will be decided upon closer to the race date. This event will involve teams, however, if you do not belong in a team or if you would rather race seperately than you can enter yourself in a privateer team. FLR teams may have a maximum of 4 drivers, 2 for each class and privateer teams will have a maximum of 2 drivers, however you do not need to fill your driver cap. there will be 3 championships; Drivers Championship GT500 and GT300 and Overall Teams Championship.
Round placements will be decided on your total time, winning your lobby race will not guarentee you 1st place

Prizes,
Drivers Championship GT500: 1,000,000 CR 1000 Microsoft points
Drivers Championship GT300: 1,000,000 CR 500 Microsoft points
Team Championship: 2,000,000 CR Bragging rights

Potential cars:
All GT500/GT300 body style cars
Certain GT3/GT2/GT1 cars (R2 and R3)
And possibly even the Aussie V8s to liven things up

This is to ensure a diverse field

Potentially there is room for 46 candidates

Also i will be planning on holding some testing sessions soon to determine what cars will need to be handicapped, what cars will need to be tuned, and what build we will need to use of the Diablo GTR

Also in terms of lobbys what im hoping for is 3 lobbys. 1 UK/Europe and 2 North American lobbys per class however i would be more than happy to expand on this number

Twin Ring Motegi Full: 25 Laps
Suzuka Full 30 Laps
Silverstone: 15 laps (no required pitstop)
Catalunya GP: 20 Laps
Laguna Seca: 25 Laps
Sunset Peninsula Full: 30 Laps

Races 20 laps an up require a pitstop. you can pit any lap aside from the 1st lap or the last lap. Pit stops taken under caution do not count as your madatory pitstop

Handicaps:
GT500
so far im thinking the handicaps will be based of the lower vehicals such as the NSX, Supra and the Skyline GTR, So far im thinking that the Lexus SC430 and the GTR will have handling and grip handicaps and the aston martin, mclaren and the ferrari will face power handicaps. Im not sure yet about the Lambo as i havent been able to build one. Also im thinking of using upgrades on all cars. Also, there will be one standard rim across the series.

GT300
So far it seems that the only cars to face handicaps will be the GT40 and the Rahal Letterman Racing M3 GTR and these will most likely be power handicapps. The aussie v8s may also face pwoer handicaps There will be a standard rim across this series aswell, though possibly different to GT500, also i think that these cars will remain stock.

Registration:
Registration is now open, When choosing a car check to see if it is taken. remember no team can have to same car Aside from the Diablo GTR in GT500 and the Imprezza, GT40 and M3 GTR in GT300

this sounds really cool.I don't know much about JCGT but I have driven nsx gt and love it.I will drive more when you post up more complete list of cars.

well its going to be very flexible and it wont be starting till october at least, im thinking 1 race a week, for this to be sucsessfull im hoping we can get at least 5 of the teams involved with 4 racers each so im hoping to run at least 3 lobbys, and the 3 lobbys will be able to be ran on different days so we can suit everyone. so hopefully if more people are keen on this we can start to work out days

ok guys im going to organise a test session on the 1st of september, we're going to run 10 laps at each of the courses 5 in GT500 and 5 in GT300. I'm willing to gift out cars which you can keep and use in the series if you like. i'll be using the #007 aston but for gt500 i have an NSX, a GTR, a SC430, 2 McLaren F1s and for gt300 i'll be using a 350Z, i have up for grabs a Diablo GTR with a certain build for the series, A FG falcon and a VE commodore, The Rahal Letterman Racing M3 GT2. if you want in on this hit me up, i'll have 8 slots open. FR me if you want a car, first in first served!

I wont be able to attend, as we have the final race is the muscle car series. Maybe I could jump in after we're done - 10:30PM EST, not sure. FYI, Pagan is this series as well.

was looking at about 8pm GMT -5 onwards, but can push it back later if you need, ahh basically the cars i dont have are, for GT500 the JTGC skylines (R34), the 550 Maranello and the supra, and for GT300 the Imprezza, the Porches and the older BMW M3 GTRs

That time works well for me.
I have the 550 and the Supra as well as the Impreza and one of the Porsche's - Flying Lizard. I was thinking about getting the Skyline and older GTR, I'll pick them up this weekend.

alright sweet kevin!, car list is in the OP but if you want i can gift you one of the cars ive listed in my post, im thinking for the test session we shouldnt tune the cars, just run them with the upgrades and restricitions and see how that goes

Just a quick update, I spoke with Pagan and I think he'll be able to attend as well. He and I both have the Supra's, 550's, and Skyline's. Additionlly, I have the Impreza and the '06 M3 GTR.
