Race 9, Sunset Peninsula Speedway - Reverse

Welcome to week nine, race nine! This week we return to the high banked high, speed track at Sunset Peninsula in the reverse direction. This will be our standard race format, 50 laps, sim damage, with one required pit stop. This week we return to our standard build cars, PI R2 808. Both championships are still very much up for grabs, so the competition is sure to be fierce. Qualifying will begin at 9:00 pm est.

Race notes:

As you all know by now, Sunset is a high speed, low aero track. It's the fastest track we run and top speed is key. Drafting can also play a major role here, more so than the other tracks. Take care when drafting into the corners however, as carrying that much speed into the turns can be disastrous for both cars. The reverse direction also features a unique challenge in turn four. The camber is opposite and the track narrows going onto the front straight. Miss your turn in or carry too much speed through the turn and you will be in the wall. Even the slightest aero damage can be detrimental here.

An unusual glitch that affected DBF during the race. This is not what he saw nor did I. He was down next to the apron when I passed him.

It's a shame they screwed up bump drafting. I gently tagged DB and nearly destroyed his car. I faired much better with only 10% damage compared to his 30%.
