Amateur Racing Series Cup Season 1

So we ran the 2 week end practice the turnout was disappointing but the regulars who did show up had fun and i did see improvement even if there were bumps in the road ... well on the road paint was traded and bumpers were lost and i have a good collection of cones

CARS:
we will run C class cars no tunes no upgrades, race em like you bought em.
2009 Lotus Evora, 2003 Porsche Boxter S, 2009 BMW 135i, 2000 Saleen S281, 1997 Mazda RX-7

WHEN:
October 1,8,15,22,29 Saturdays hope to have a lobby for 9PM UK / 4PM EST and another @ 8PM EST will depend on who shows up, and am willing to change these times

Oct.1 Iberian full reverse, Montegi twin ring west, Road Atlanta full 12 laps/race -BMW 135i

Oct.8 Mugello Club, Maple Valley short reverse, Road America, Mugello/Maple 12 laps / Rd. America 10 laps -Porsche Boxter

Oct.15 Sebring short, Suzuka East, Mazda Laguna Seca Sebring/Suzuka 12 laps / Laguna 10 laps -Mazda RX-7

Oct.22 Sebring Club, Maple Valley short, Silverstone National 12 laps/race -Lotus Evora

Oct.25 Road Atlanta club, Sunset club reverse, New York Old 12 laps/race -Saleen S281

DAMAGE:
will be set to cosmetic and we will restart if we don't get lap 1 done without any multi car contact resulting in a spin out

SCORING:
in case of multi-lobbies race times will be recorded, the DRIVER WITH BEST LAP TIME will get a bonus point
1 point for last place and +1 point per position for each race

Paint:
would be cool if everyone could run their team color(s) and their driver # on doors, top or back if you need help with this let me know

starting grid will be random

All races will be on Forza 3

Hey looking Forward to Running this Series, I to have seen us improve with our racing n the series the races seem to be quite close at times. Which makes it more fun as well. Anyways Season one look like its gonna be a blast. I too was hoping to race a few more people. But hopefully once the series officially kicks off more will turn up! But i did enjoy our two practice weekends with who i am calling the four Horsemen was a blast. Anyways That is all for now im off to start my paint Scheme for the 1st 3 races on the Season. I like the idea of this series but I'm concentrating on completing as many achievements and accumulating credits by the time FM4 is released, so after I complete the series' I'm presently in I won't be entering any others until after the release.

Forgot to mention b4 but there will be an optional race at the end of each night a "Demolition race" haven't worked out the details yet but see something along the lines of FULL DAMAGE, New York with the "Obstacles" the "winner" would be the person who drove the furthest in xx# of minutes probably about 5 we'll see how long it takes to mess up the cars from what i saw in exhibition it may not even take that long lol and the main idea here is to have fun and wreck your car

it's road atlanta full i just edited the original post and the only track that we didn't run the last 2 weeks is road atlanta full but we did do some on the club circuit

if you log in a little early we can practice a bit b4 starting i suggest practicing with the car on each track just to learn corner speeds with this BMW

LOl as ive been practiing on all three track ive noticed one thing the BMW is what i like to call A-ss Happy! lol

Since we are sharing some of our findings and we are all in this particular series for learning, I found that despite having a red line near 7500 rpm, the BMW will actually peak power at about 6000 rpm. This means that to maximize the acceleration, you should upshift at 6000 rpm as opposed to running the engine to 8000 rpm.

(maybe you should test this out - in case I send false information to deceive you and take the win! )

You can verify this by running a benchmark on the car or you can confirm this by looking at the detailed info while driving (press up on the d-pad) you'll see the power on the right of the screen about 2/3 down. After you pass 6000 rpm you should see the Horsepower start to drop. You should shift up before the drop in power.

don't forget that it's just as important where the RPM lands after the shift as it is when you do shift. Running over the power spike in order to put the engine in the powerband when you upshift is pretty common in drag racing. if you're looking for max acceleration, torque is much more important than horsepower, depending on the track obviously. a track with many slow speed corners will benefit from higher torque much more so than a high speed track.

also if the transmission is stock, and wide ratio spacing that has a major impact as opposed to a racing transmission. that's why cars have 7 and 8 speed gearboxes now as opposed to the past.

Some good tips here and an easier way to find peak hp rpm is in my garage push X and tab over with rb button to find horsepower peak rpm.

I Think i finally Got my Car all painted for the Series. Although i might keep adding here and there. But i wanted you to know i came up with our Amateur Series Logo i have two types if anyone would like a copy...Although it says the vinyls are locked maybe it cause i kinda took a vinly from someones store front and added it to my logo???

Yes, if you used a vinyl from the storefront your design will be locked and you cannot gift it out or put it on your SF.

Ok i made a new logo of my own so this is 100% original design im loading the vinyls to my sotrefront if any of you rookie would like it to put on your car be my guest!

Or if you would like me to do your paint scheme i would be more than happy to as well. It may not look as good as some of the others. But for the amateur series i figure its a good place to start to becoming the Official Team Painter of the Amateur Series lol. Hey dont worry about if your not good, thats why andus created this series was to have it for All of Us. We are Amateurs so you will fit right in. Hey maybe you suprise yourself and take a wiin at one of the tracks. It should be a fun series i cant wait to start. With all our experiance combined it should be a crash fest at times.

i plan on just painting mine yellow and black and slap on a few PLR vinyls and maybe some manufacturer vinyls but hey knock yourselves out have some fun with it
