| Amateur CupWhere rookies and amateurs get their chance to shine!I've been stuck with this idea for a while. A grassroots-alike game, but for racing. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's ever been done. If you're not familiar with Grassroots, here is the idea: Everyone starts out with an imaginary budget. With this budget, a person can buy a car and and upgrades for his car. When enough people have done this, the first racing events will be set up, and people will be able to race each other with their new (and cheap) cars! Racing earns you CR(edits) towards your imaginary budget, which will allow you to buy more upgrades (or cars)! After a while, people will also form teams, people will become painters or tuners and sell paints & tunes for CR towards their imaginary budget. You'll also be able to trade cars. And here are the rules so far: There are a couple of rules before you can enter the Amateur Cup. Make sure you read these. THE FIRST FEW RACE EVENTS WILL BE LIMITED TO PI-275! BudgetAmateur Cup works with a fake budget. You will not actually earn any CR through this Cup (aside from standard CR rewards from races). Every racer starts out with 15,000 CR. These can be spent on a car and upgrades. When a racer attends to a race, he will 'earn' more credits. These are added to the budget. Buying CarsAmateur Cup does not use the normal Forza Motorsport 3 prices for cars. Instead, it uses a formula to calculate the price of a car. The formula is as follows: PI³ / (100 * √PI) = Final Price Here's a list of example prices (approximately): F200 - 5,657 CR E275 - 12,558 CR D350 - 22,927 CR C425 - 37,265 CR B500 - 55,803 CR A600 - 88,163 CR S700 - 129,678 CR AWD cars use a different formula: PI³ / 75√ PI = Final Price This results in AWD cars being a bit more expensive than RWD or FWD cars. Additionally: Your first car may not have an original Forza Motorsport 3 price of over 50,000 CR! UpgradesUpgrades use the normal Forza Motorsport 3 prices. HOWEVER, Forza Motorsport 3 uses a discount system. This would result in unfair prices for some players. To calculate the price for an Upgrade, you use this formula: ("Your Upgrade Price"/(100 – "Your Discount %")) * 100 = Final Upgrade Price. The Final Upgrade Price is the one you use for calculating costs. Additionally: EVERY CAR MUST HAVE A ROLL-CAGE TO BE ALLOWED INTO A RACING SESSION! You can go no higher than SPORT upgrades; RACE upgrades are to be unlocked! It is DISALLOWED to convert a RWD or FWD car into an AWD car. Any other conversions are O.K.! Rewards for RacesEvery attendant to a race is rewarded the same amount of budget CR (these variate per race). Every Race is sponsored by one Sponsor. This Sponsor will reward the Winner of the Race with a single unlocked Race Upgrade. This Upgrade can then be bought by the Winner. If he does so, he must wear that Sponsor's logo. _______________________________________________________________________________________ I am looking for a second person to help me lead this tournament! Preferably, someone from North America, or in that timezone, so he can help out people from that region and TZ. Also, I've created a seperate forums for Amateur Cup! If you're interested, sign up there. http://z7.invisionfree.com/Amateur_Cup/index.php?act=idx(I made this forum because I will also be recruiting people from the Forza Motorsport 3 forums.)

| Hey, thanks for the interest x 8Eleven! I had hoped for some more people to be interested, though...
Anyhow, if you want to, register on the forums I linked to and set up a garage! |

| Um xxlebox, i'm not so sure about your "forums" if you wanted something set up, you can ask any of the admins here and discuss some things instead of having to make an entire new site just for the amateur cup series. If you know what i mean? |

| As I already said, people from the FM3 forums might want to join in, but not necessarily sign up for these forums, where they need to get a number and a team to be able to participate in races, etc. Unless they don't have to, in which case you'd still have to set up these separate forums & threads for the rules, applications, garages, a marketplace, events & more.
I'd love to have it all on the FLR forums, but it's going to be a lot of work for you too.
Anyhow, there's only one person (x8 Eleven) who's interested so far, so maybe there's no point in setting it all up at all.
Your call! |

| Uhm.. if you look at it from another angle, it seems like you are trying to advertise your tournament on FLR.. i mean your new.. starting a tournament.. making your own website.. people from FM.net wanting to race... bit suspicious, that's all.. And tbh i wouldn't want to race people off FM.net anyway, so count me out | |

| Easy there xxlebox. Rock is entitled to his opinion, but he does not represent the FLR members as a whole. This thread is only a week old, there may be more interest yet. Give it a chance. People don't always read all the post right away. | |

| Nah, there won't be. If anyone's active at all, they would've read it by now. And that's fine, not all ideas are great. We could give it some more time, however if Rockon2Dawn has to call me a bloody "traitor" for it, if you will, then I don't care about trying to set this up anymore. |

| Sorry you feel that way, but let me give you an example. Several weeks ago I posted a Sunday Morning Car Club series on my team board. Sat. a team member asked me what it was. Obviously he did not even completely read the team boards! LOL! Don't get discouraged is all I'm saying. Your right, not all ideas take off, and that's ok. At least you made the effort.
And don't let Rock bother you! | |

Well... if you had instead just said that you didn't like FM.net people joining in, and would participate if there weren't FM.net people around (which there aren't yet, by the way, because noone at FM.net is interested either ), I would've cancelled the Amateur Cup forum and see if something could be set up here. As I said, I just set up that forum in case anyone from FM.net would want to join, and because there's a need of a couple of threads and forums for this Cup, which would be a bother to set up here on FLR. Anyway, I just got a little discouraged. Just let me know what you want me to do. |

| Since no one at FM.net is interested, perhaps make it just an FLR thing. Just a suggestion. Many people are here because they got tired of the bumpers and bangers out there. | |

| Well, I've found that if I hook up with people from FM.net they're always neat drivers. It's the public lobby guys (which I think don't really hang around on the FM.net forums at all) you really want to avoid.
Anyhow, we sure can make it an FLR only thing, but I'll need an admin to set up a separate piece of forum for it. (Would be even handier if I could manage that myself, because we'll need a forum for Events, a Marketplace for buying/selling cars, a forum for everyone's personal Garage-thread, etc.) |

| Great, we're all friends again!! X, I like this idea alot, but the rules are a little hard to follow the first time through. Is there any way you could simplify them? | |

| Erm, not really. If you need any help with the pricing for a car & upgrades just ask though.

| I'll start watching this one too. I think I can only commit to one tournament at a time, but the Spec Mustang one is done mid-September I think. And then I will need a new tournament!
This does sound complicated, but as it gets rolling I'm sure it will clear itself up.

If this works out maybe throw so GrassRoot Drifting and Drag and you can race with other team members to. Sweet Idea I"M IN |
