Japan 80s Tournament Empty
PostSubject: Japan 80s Tournament   Japan 80s Tournament Icon_minitimeTue Jul 06, 2010 3:40 am

Ive been thinking about running a tournament like this for a while now so i can race my AE86. Basically this will be a 4 race tournment ran on Japanese tracks. I'm also thinking about hosting some drift races and Head to Head Sprint races alongside the tournament

Anyway this is the basic layout of the tournament.
There will be 4 races, Tsukuba Full, Suzuka Full, Twin Ring Motegi full. the last race will be at either Suzka West, Twin Ring west or Twin Ring Super Speedway.
Drift races will all be held at Fujimo Kaido New and Old Downhill, Tsukuba Full and Suzuka East

Cars that are eligible:
Any Japanese car where the first year of the MY is in the 80s. For example, the R32 Skyline appears in forza as MY1995 however as this was first sold in 1989 it is elligble
Cars that ive started testing are:
Toyota Spritner Trueno
Toyota Celica Supra
Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo
Nissan Silvia Club K's (s13)
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R32
Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo
Mazda Savannah RX-7
Mazda MX-5 Miata

PI:
What im thinking in terms of PI is that i might make it 700 (will be determined after i finish all my tuning) my reasoning for this is I want higher powered cars to make this feel more like a real race series. So when tuning for this series (if it goes ahead) i highly reccomend engine swaps. also im going to make the follwing parts compulsary:
Race Breaks
Race Springs and Dampers
Race Front and Rear Anti-roll Bars
Race Roll Cage
Race Weight Reduction
Race Clutch
Sport or Race Transmission
Race Driveline
Race Tire Compound

Also All cars must be RWD

Seperate tuning setups will be allowed for drift

Rules
Races will be clean!!!
A specific Ruleset will be determined if the series goes ahead

Assists:
I will allow TSC, STM and racing lines, Possibly ABS. NO AUTOBREAK

Race Format
Circut:
Circut Races will be on Tsukuba Full, Suzuka Full, Twin Ring Motegi Full and a fourth track TBA. Im looking at around a race time of 30 mins with a compulsary pitstop. There will be a 15 minute break between qualifying and the race to allow for fine tuning tunes, last minute hotlaps etc. More information TBA
Drift:
Drift, Drift races will be held at Fujimi New and Old downhill, Tsukuba full and Suzuka East. Drift races will be ran in a head to head format with the winner progressing through.
Head to Head sprints:
TBA

This is in no way definent and will only go ahead if enough interest is shown (at least 6 races) Racers may enter individually or as a team but no more then 2 drivers per team

All feedback is appreeciated

what kinda total costs will these cars be running? i have a few of the cars listed however i wouldnt normally take them upto around S series so would possible be an expensive tournament.

well the cost of all the compulsary parts will 60 - 70,000 credits roughly, but most cars are looking at between 100,000 and 150,000 cr. Thats what ive encounted so far. Everything could change, though, if a PI of 600 would see more people wanting to race then i would be more than happy to lower it and change the compulsary parts

Thanks,

1st 1,000,000
2nd 750,000
3rd 250,000

1st: 5 points
2nd: 4 points
3rd: 3 points
4th: 2 points
5th: 1 point
6th - 8th: 0 points

Circut and drift are scored seperately and awarded seperately

also due to the high cost of the event i might put all the cars aside from the Sprinter on the auction house once ive finished tuning them so the cost of tuning isnt too high

finished some testing today, all cars are quite competitive, of course some cars have an edge over others. the critera was that all cars had 5 laps to do a lap of tsukuba in under 1 minute and 2 seconds with a max pi of S700. all cars were able to do this by the second lap and all cars scored fastest times under 1 minute
